NederlandsFrom the start of the study association some activities have become a yearly, monthly or weekly tradition or custom. These activities are the main structure of the year for the association. Below you see a summation of these main activities.
Genius-drink
In the past each Thursday a drink was organized in the old building of our study ‘De Hucht’ (former University building in front of the student association SSR-W). Since the relocation of the study at campus ‘De Born’ the study association can still have their drink each Thursday. Students and teachers can meet each other at this drink and can discuss about the topics they want. The theme-drinks have a positive big impact at the visitors rate.
First Years Weekend (EJW)
To have a good integration of the first year students of the Bachelor Landscape Architecture and Spatial Planning the First Year Committee organizes an integration weekend. This weekend is organized each year at the end of September. To stay in contact with the university a part of the weekend is for educational purposes.
Committee-drink
Each committee can always use some extra pair of hands. Due to students who stop their committee-activities after graduation new committee-members are always welcome. Take a look at the committee-page. It is possible to visit the committee-drink to talk with committees and maybe you can join them.
Acquisition party
Each half of the year the board changes her composition. That is the reason to organize an acquisition party each year. At the party the new board can be congratulated with their acquisition.
Genius-Barbeque
At the end of the college year the aXie organizes each year a barbeque for all members of Genius Loci. The barbeque is one of the last moments to meet the other members before the summer holidays. This event is visited very well each time.
Prom
Also the students of Landscape Architecture and Spatial Planning have to deal with the prom. Each two years the Prom-committee organizes the prom. All members and teachers are invited to show their most beautiful dress or suit.
Almanac
An association without an almanac is like a Landscape Architect without a pensil. Members of the Almanakcie compose each two-and-a-half year an Almanac. An Almanac is very important for the association. The next Almanac will be presented in December 2012.
Buitex
The Buitex is the committee which organizes excursions to foreign places. A whole year long the members of this committee are busy with the preparations for the excursion. The excursion takes often more than a week. The destinations are variable: Eastern Bloc, Romania and New York
Education-debate
Each year the education-committee organizes the education-debate. This debate has to improve the quality of the education within our study. With several statements the committee tries to create a discussion between students but also with teachers.
‘Course of the Hucht’-Award
The best course given by teachers of the department LAR, LUP or SAL deserves the Award of the Course of the Hucht. The students can decide which course is the best. Last winners of the award are: Martijn Duineveld with Human Geography and Erik de Jong withGarden- and Landscape Architecture: a Design and Cultural History.
