Learn the Scientific Method in a Changing Climate (MAQ37806) is a 6 ECTS blended course designed to prepare students for their BSc thesis by engaging them in real scientific research. Centered around the core steps of the scientific method—posing questions, forming hypotheses, experimenting, and analysis—the course empowers students to explore complex societal and environmental challenges hands-on. Originally developed for 3rd-year BSW/BES students, it now includes modules for other programmes as well. With flexible online content and 2–3 in-person sessions per week (scheduled based on student preference), learners can study at their own pace and location. Students design and carry out an independent research project, while practicing proposal writing, critical thinking, and self-reflection—making this course the ideal launchpad for a successful thesis journey.
